What to Expect

Your initial visit is an opportunity for Dr. Yenne or Dr. Schofield to evaluate your orthodontic needs and review concerns that you may have with your teeth and/or smile. Your doctor will conduct a complete examination of your face, teeth, and smile to determine the nature of your problem and the recommended course of treatment. If more information is needed for diagnosis, our Treatment Coordinator will arrange diagnostic records to be taken. These photos, models, and X-rays will be used as your own personal "blue print" to fully evaluate dental and skeletal relationships. Many times diagnostic records can be taken the same day as your initial examination. A consultation may be scheduled to discuss findings and treatment recommendations. This is an excellent time to have all questions answered concerning the orthodontic process.

If your doctor determines at the initial visit that your child is not yet ready for treatment, he or she may be enrolled in our pre-orthodontic guidance program. This program helps determine ideal treatment timing and consists of brief, complimentary visits every six to twelve months to monitor dental and facial development.

If you have a special interest in streamlining this process please talk with our Treatment Coordinator or Receptionist. We will attempt to arrange appointments to best meet your schedule. Phone consultations are always available on request.
